ZERO. Office building of the future
A five-storey office building with a gross floor area of around 14,000 m² is being built on the former Hansa site in Stuttgart-Möhringen with ZERO. - a flagship project as part of the International Building Exhibition IBA'27. The special feature: 286 prefabricated room modules made of certified solid wood are produced under controlled conditions and assembled on site to form a sustainable overall building. The modular construction method not only reduces construction time, but also significantly reduces waste and noise on site.
Sustainability and smart technology
The project pursues a holistic ecological concept:
- Energy efficiency: A 400 m³ ice storage tank in combination with heat pumps and a large-scale photovoltaic system ensures an almost climate-neutral supply.
- Passive ventilation: Natural ventilation flaps are used instead of energy-intensive ventilation technology.
- Green roof areas: These promote biodiversity and support sustainable rainwater retention.
