Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available for our GoFix MS® II and Hobet® screw systems. These Environmental Product Declarations provide standardised and independently verified data on the environmental impacts of the products across the life cycle stages covered by the respective EPD. 

This provides architects, planners, construction companies and other project stakeholders with transparent environmental data for the planning and assessment of construction projects.&

What is an EPD? 

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardised environmental product declaration. It is based on a life cycle assessment and provides quantitative information on a product’s environmental impacts. 

The information contained in an EPD is verified by an independent body. This involves checking whether the information contained therein complies with the applicable rules and standards and is presented in a plausible and complete manner. 

An EPD does not rate a product as ‘environmentally friendly’ or ‘sustainable’. Rather, it creates a transparent and traceable data basis for assessing environmental impacts. 

What information do EPDs provide? 

The EPDs for GoFix MS® II and Hobet® provide standardised environmental data on the relevant life-cycle stages of the products. 

This includes, amongst other things: 

• Data from the underlying life cycle assessment 
• Information on relevant environmental impacts 
• Information on the materials used and the manufacturing process 
• Details of the life cycle stages considered in the EPD 
• Key figures on greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental indicators 

The specific values, system boundaries and life-cycle modules considered are documented in the respective EPD.
