CLIMATE*ISLANDS save overheated cities - update

CLIMATE*INSELN cool urban hotspots by clever modules forming foliage as dense as large trees within a short time.

The summer temperature peaks in cities and public places are increasing, as we in Europe have had to experience again this year. It is most pleasant in the shade under trees or plants. At the beginning of 2022, architect Christoph Fürst and his team contacted SIHGA with the idea for the CLIMATE*INSELN. SIHGA immediately recognized the potential of this innovation and supported the development in an advisory capacity as well as with the corresponding fastening systems.

CLIMATE*ISLANDS cool urban hotspots by clever modules forming foliage as dense as large trees within a short time. Evaporation and shading, the two most important factors for cooling, are thus possible even in places where infrastructure or underground garages do not allow tree roots. Mobile, low-maintenance units lower midsummer temperatures with smart water management, creating new usable urban spaces at the height of summer.

On 30.6. and on 7.7.2023, both from 10:00 to 15:00, you can get to know the first CLIMATE*ISLANDS at company Keplinger Holz in Traun. Registration please under cool@klimainsel.com
