A parking garage that makes (wooden) history
Hargassner wooden parking garage as a showcase project in modern timber construction
L-GoFix® in use
The Hargassner wooden parking garage in Weng im Innkreis is a true showcase project for sustainable construction—and it has been built entirely out of wood with impressive consistency. Winner of the 2025 Upper Austria Timber Construction Award, the building impressively demonstrates how functional architecture, modern timber construction technology, and ecological responsibility can go hand in hand. As a partner for innovative fastening solutions, SIHGA® was represented in this project with a particularly strong product: the L-GoFix® MS.
Wood meets high-tech: the parking garage as a landmark
A parking garage was built on approximately 3,600 m² using only wood—an absolute rarity for this type of building. The structure is impressive both structurally and visually, with a well-thought-out design featuring wooden supports, cross-laminated timber ceilings, and a striking façade made of vertical wooden slats. The building meets the highest standards for load-bearing capacity, durability, and design.
L-GoFix® MS – for a reliable connection
Constructions such as parking garages, which are exposed to daily loads, require fasteners that can be relied on completely. The L-GoFix® MS screw from SIHGA® is perfect for this.
FACTS:
- fastens wood to wood without pre-drilling or countersinking
- High structural wood protection
- Also available in black and antique finishes
The L-GoFix® MS was used in key structural areas of the Hargassner wooden parking garage, thereby contributing significantly to the overall stability of the building.& nbsp;
A strong sign for timber construction
With this project, Hargassner is not only focusing on sustainable mobility infrastructure, but also underlining the great potential of wood as a building material – especially in urban areas and in typically conventionally constructed building types. SIHGA® is proud to be part of this forward-looking project with the L-GoFix® MS and to be taking timber construction to a new level.
