When using coatings such as oils, glazes and pre-greying agents, it is essential to consult the coating manufacturer. The manufacturer will usually specify the minimum material grade for the fastener. If the manufacturer is unknown, we recommend material grade A4 (L-Bohrfix® MB A4)

Due to the material properties, it is strongly recommended to pre-drill the mounting part (screw diameter + 0.5–1 mm). Due to the varying bulk densities and moisture content, even in coniferous woods, the substrate must in most cases be pre-drilled with a 3 mm diameter drill bit over the entire length of the threaded shank.
